Handheld Laser Welder

Handheld laser welders represent the latest in smooth and flexible laser welding. These devices combine powerful laser technology with ease of use and maneuverability. Offering precision and versatility, they enable precise control of the welding process even on hard-to-reach surfaces or smaller workpieces. Their compact design makes them easy to transport. This form of laser welding produces high quality and fast results, making them valuable tools in industry, manufacturing and maintenance work.

What is a laser welder?

A laser welder is a type of laser machine used to perform laser welding. This machine uses a laser beam to melt and join materials. Laser welders vary in size, power, and configuration depending on the application and the material to be welded. Laser welders are used in various industrial contexts to create strong and precise welds.

LightWELD laser welders can weld the following materials:

  • Steel: Stainless steel, mild steel and galvanized steel.
  • Aluminum: 3XXX and 5XXX series (up to 6.35 mm with the XR model).
  • Titanium and copper: Possible with the LightWELD XR, making it easier to handle reflective materials.
  • Nickel alloys: Suitable for welding up to 5 mm thick.
These materials and thicknesses make LightWELD a flexible solution for a wide range of manufacturing and repair applications.

More Features of LightWeld Laser Welders

Flexibility and Performance

  • Materials and Thicknesses: In addition to the materials mentioned, LightWELD systems can handle materials of different thicknesses, with the XR model being particularly capable of thicker and reflective materials.

  • Built-in wobble function: This feature allows for an adjustable weld width of up to 5 mm, which is useful for poorly fitting parts and provides wider and more stable joints.
  • Quick presets: Pre-programmed settings make it easy to switch between different materials and thicknesses, increasing productivity.

Cleaning Function

  • Pre-weld cleaning: Effectively removes contaminants such as oil, grease and rust from the material surface to improve weld quality.
  • Post-weld cleaning: Removes soot and discoloration, providing a beautiful visual finish without the need for grinding or polishing.

Ease of use

  • Ergonomic design: The handheld welding and cleaning gun is light and comfortable to use, reducing operator fatigue during long work shifts.
  • Short learning curve: The systems are easy to learn and use, even for beginners, reducing the need for extensive training.
  • Intuitive controls: The laser welders have clear controls and settings that make it easy to adjust the laser power for different applications.

Efficiency

  • High speed: Laser welding with LightWELD is up to 4 times faster than traditional TIG welding.
  • Minimal heat affected zone (HAZ): Reduces the risk of material deformation, which is common with conventional welding methods such as MIG and TIG.

Safety

  • Laser safety: LightWELD systems are designed with safety features and require training before use to ensure safe operation.
  • CE certification: All models are CE marked, ensuring they meet European safety standards.

Adaptability

  • Wire welding: Ability to use wire feeder to weld parts with larger gaps or create filler welds.

  • Quick change between functions: Easily switch between welding and cleaning by changing the nozzle and selecting the right setting.
